New News Story

It was the first jumble sale of the year and we had masses of jumble donated, taking all morning to sort out ready for our sale at 2pm. Zoe and Jill had been very busy in the tractor picking up jumble from people's houses - not a pleasant job in the rain!

Class 2 pupils and many parents [and teachers] did a great job baking for the cake stall which had cup cakes galore for sale as well as a beautifully decorated chocolate cake and some of Sam's lovely oaty biscuits.

The tombola was popular with 100 prizes to be won but the best and most varied stall must have been the bric-a-brac which packed out the whole end of the hall, including all available floor space. The book stall was impressive too with lots of books being bought by eager readers.

There were lots of bargains to be snapped up and business was brisk with the whole sale over by 3.30pm. Mrs Cottle narrowly missed out on a pressure cooker but did bag a bargain with some killer heels in preparation for 'dress up Friday' at the end of literacy week in February.

£684 was raised to help fund the school's camping trip to Guernsey in June so many thanks to all who helped and all who came to support us.

We now look forward to our next fundraiser - a Family Quiz Night on Febuary 24th.
