Late Autumn Walk

Eleven junior members with four adults met outside school on Saturday 31st October for a late autumn walk to the Eperquerie. The weather was amazingly sunny with clear blue skies and hardly any wind.

As we walked we could hear a wren among the gorse and duing the walk we saw gannets, shags, black back gulls, herring gulls on a rock, a kestrel and a peregrine falcon.

As we walked along the paths edged by gorse and black thorn we saw blackberries and sloes as well as a small mushroom with a crimson cap. We saw ladybirds, a white butterfly, a meadow brown butterfly, three balck beetles, a shield bug, spiders and an earwig.

Unfortunately our plans to return three weeks later were cancelled due to very contrasting weather conditions of heavy rain and gales.
