Sark Watch Bird Box Building!

On Saturday 7th March members of Sark Watch met at the Forest School site for a practical workshop building bird boxes. Many thanks to Sam for preparing all the materials and making sure we had everything we needed!

Children worked with Sam, Richard and Simon in teams of two to build their box, carefully following the instructions to make sure all the bits went together correctly.

They then had a go at painting their box which was a bit messy!

The morning ended with time to play in the sunshine and enjoy hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows thanks to Miss Mill's brilliant fire building skills.

An unexpected plus to the morning was the amazing washstand made by Sam, Richard and Simon. A maintenance morning is planned for next week when various projects are planned for the Forest School site including painting the shed. What began as a discussion about how the washstand could be built ended up, an hour later, with one of the best washstands to be seen in a Forest School site!
