Saturday Half-Term Walk

The Watch Group enjoyed a Saturday morning walk to the Eperquerie looking for bugs, caterpillars, butterflies, birds and flowers.

Over a couple of hours several different kinds of caterpillars were found including the very small 'disco dancing' babies in the nest to rather larger ones. Rosie promised to identify them for us when she got home.

Exploring the headland we came across the most beautiful carpet of thrift as well as other varieties of wildflowers.

Although we didn't manage to spot a wide variety of birds or butterflies the walk was declared a great success and, returning around noon, many of us enjoyed bacon and egg sandwiches to end the morning.
