Happy Liberation Day! Celebrating 80 years of in Sark is a remarkable milestone. On Friday we opened our school’s Occupation and Liberation exhibition. Visitors of all ages came to explore the works on display, featuring art, poetry, and imagined diary entries from the years 1939-1945. Highlights included engaging podcasts and a stunning metal sculpture designed by one of our pupils and crafted by Dom Graziani and Harry Knight. It was a weekend filled creativity and reflection, bringing our community together to honor history.
The whole school came together on Saturday to share the joy of singing a Sarkese song for HRH The Princess and later for our esteemed guests, the Chelsea Pensioners, at our island liberation celebration. It was a wonderful occasion filled with grateful joy, showcasing the spirit of our community. The performances were met with warm appreciation, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

Yesterday, the entire school had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate Mrs. Nellie Le Feuvre’s 98th birthday. Sark's oldest resident, she has been a central figure in our studies about Sark's occupation and liberation, especially as we approach the 80th anniversary of this important event. Accompanied by Mr. Smith on guitar, the children joyfully sang 'Happy Birthday' and extended their wishes to Mrs. Le Feuvre. It was a heartwarming occasion filled with gratitude and respect for her remarkable life.
