Parent Forums

Purpose

The Parent Forum is all about fostering open communication between parents and the school. It gives parents a voice, allowing them to share their views and concerns, which in turn helps us strengthen our relationship with all stakeholders. By promoting transparency, we ensure that everyone is on the same page, and we aim to create a supportive community where parents feel informed and engaged in their children's education.

Objectives

The Parent Forum aims to meet once a term to create a friendly space for parents to come together. We want to facilitate effective two-way communication between parents and the school, ensuring everyone's voice is heard. It's important for us to identify and represent the views of all parents, fostering a supportive community that works collaboratively to enhance our children's educational experience. Your input is invaluable!

A parent forum is…..

  • a vibrant space for collaboration and dialogue within our school community

  • A safe place where  parents and school come together to share ideas and voice their views, ensuring that the parent voice plays a significant role in our decision-making processes

  • a partnership where parents can learn more about the school while also enabling teachers to better understand the needs and aspirations of our families

A parent forum is not …

  • a decision-making body

  •  A group that will address matters pertaining to staffing and financial issues within the school.

  • A place for individual complaints, issues, or concerns. These should be directed through the appropriate channels.

  • A replacement for the Board of Governors

Parent Forum meetings are crucial for fostering communication and collaboration within our school community. It is paramount that these discussions are conducted in a respectful and professional manner, with due consideration for the opinions of others. Members are reminded that no references should be made to any information shared during these forums outside of the school environment, including all forms of social media. To ensure transparency, minutes from each meeting will be posted on the school website.
